Introducing NØJAK, a project for a modular furniture brand that includes branding, graphic design and communication for a client in Ghana.
The client wanted a name that reflected the Scandinavian inspiration used for the furniture, but that also held some meaning. We took the first letters of five names that resonated with the client emotionally and designed the character “Ø”, adapted vertically. This gives the brand a foreign feel to an English-speaking country like Ghana.
Following the same Scandinavian inspiration, we designed NØJAK’s identity to have a minimalist, modular aesthetic with earthy, terracotta tones. We used the characters of the name as a background pattern to create a consistent look across physical and digital communication pieces.
